Just getting started

Hello, my name is Jennifer and I am just starting my research into keeping and caring for chickens. I would like to start in the spring so I am trying to make sure that I am prepared as I can. I live on Bainbridge Island, just west of Seattle in Washington state.

Hi! Welcome to BYC from a fellow Washingtonian! My two cents? Build bigger and stronger than you think you need. Read some articles here on brooding ideas and coops. If at all possible, don't buy a prefab coop. Get a bunch of cute little chicks, but not more than your coop can house.
