Just got a swamp cooler for the coop !!

Sweet!!

It's been crazy hot here, too. The thermometer was completely maxed out sitting in the sun! The frustrating thing is that we didn't ease into it. We had cooler weather than the norm this spring, then overnight it's like 110! My poor trees and plants, they look so bad!

Poor birds too, sheesh!

Never heard of a swamp cooler until I lived in AZ back in the mid 80's. Lived in the Phoenix area and they worked great. Much better than even AC did. Were cheaper to run too because they used the environment to help cool. Only time they were a problem was "monsoon" season which was like the last few weeks of July and first few weeks of August when the humidity rose really high and you'd get bad storms rolling in from the Superstition Mountains.

I had a swamp cooler on my house in Utah. Loved it! Since it has to be very dry to use it, it won't work in Ga.

I live in the foothills in CA It is 104 today. What kind of swamp cooler did you get and where did you get it?
