Just got my e-mail from Holderreads! 6 week update, bottom pg.8

Well, mine are supposed to come next week - so, if yours don't ship today (and I hope they do, because looking at pictures of yours will keep me sane until mine come!) then we should be getting ducklings at the same time!

They're in Pacific Time, so I'm not sure around what time they'd be calling.

Crossing my fingers that you get a call tonight!

They shipped! They shipped! On the early alternate week! I just got my e-mail and they're on their way! They should be here no later than Thursday!

This is to confirm that your ducklings are being shipped out today, April 6th. They should arrive at your post office no later than Thursday the 8th. Best wishes with your new babies!

Did you get an e-mail or call yet, iamcuriositycat or evergrowing? Let's make sure we all keep in touch until our babies arrive!

Yes yes yes yes yes!!! I got the email while with my son at kung fu, and have only just gotten where I could post--they're coming this week!! Woo-hoo!!

Annarie--how exciting! And you weren't expecting them till next week--what a happy surprise!

I will definitely keep everyone posted. Tomorrow's an insanely busy day, but I bet they won't come until Thursday, anyway, since it's clear across the country. I'll be posting pics in a couple days!

How great will it be if our ducklings arrive on the same day?

I wasn't expecting them until next week - I'm a little overwhelmed, I have Bantam Cochin chicks hatching right now and was sort of planning that they'd be a little older before the ducklings arrived...
I'm drowning in peeping, fuzzy cuteness! I COMPLETELY over-extended myself this spring!

I know how you feel about being overwhelmed. This week is actually really crazy. I have a test batch of ducks due to hatch on Saturday and it's my first staggered hatch so I also have 22 eggs in the same incubator that will have to be hand-turned during lock-down. I also have a bunch of work appointments and other work stuff and this Saturday (silly us) we invited five other families to come work on projects, play games, and have a bonfire with us. Are we out of our minds or what???

I have an article for a local magazine due tomorrow and I'm working like crazy to get it done. And I'm taking a break right now and I've got to go get my brooder set up. I don't have the feed for them yet because I lost track of time and I've got to go get that but tomorrow is completely packed so I won't be able to get it until Thursday morning (I have feed left from last year, so they won't starve to death, but I understand it won't be as nutritionally complete as fresh feed)... whew... I'm overwhelmed!! lol

Anyway--I hope we both get them the same day. What fun! And frankly, I hope it's Thursday, because tomorrow is way too crazy. We'll see.

Me Too! Me Too! I got my e-mail today also.

I'm so excited I can hardly wait! I live in Washington and hope mine come tomorrow. This will be so fun to get them all together! I'm going to have to figure out how to post pictures now.

It sounds like a crazy time for everyone, I hope it doesn't get to insane for you all. I'm not to busy this week. I'm happy they are coming now, as I am pregnant and due in May. I hope to have them out of my house before my baby comes. Happy times this spring.

I'm so worried about them!

I wish it was warmer outside - it's nasty and storming right now, with walnut-sized hail advisories, and it's supposed to be like that for the next two days here.

Annarie--they'll be fine. They wouldn't ship them if it was a problem--I'm sure they know what weather can be like up there in April. Which reminds me how glad I am NOT to live in Iowa any more--I HATED snow in April. lol

Anyway, the ducks will have each other to keep warm, and they'll be inside a vehicle and then inside buildings. They'll be fine!

For your sake, I hope yours come tomorrow, so you can stop worrying.

I want mine to come Thursday. Actually, I won't complain a bit if they come tomorrow, but it seems unlikely--I'm all the way on the East coast, and down South too.

Can't wait to see everyone's pictures, to whet my appetite for my own babies!

And evergrowing--holy cow--you are going to have your hands full!! I was pregnant when I got my first batch of ducklings--still suffering morning sickness--and I remember sitting outside with them and feeling horrible and wish I could just be a duck herder for the rest of my life, because life was so simple just lying there staring at them and feeling nauseous. lol Anyway, you are going to be busymama. Good luck!!
