just got new pigeons

i just got 3 new white pigeons and 2 are young and 1 is older do you think if i have them in a cage for a year i can let them free range after that year is over.

You should be able to. I'd let the younger ones out sooner and about a month before a year is up for the old one, re-add the young ones and let them all re-bond and they should all stay.

How young is "young" and how old is "old"? Are they homers or another breed?

It definitely depends on the breed. A friend of mine told me a story about a racing homer pigeon he'd bought from a guy in Idaho. He kept the bird for 4 years, caged all the time. He then sold it to a guy. That guy kept the bird penned up for about a month then let the bird out. 2 weeks later, the bird showed up in Idaho where it originated.

there homer pigeons and the old one is 1 year old and the young ones are this years hatch but they can fly and they are full grown.
