just got some parrolets

As a cockateils breeder (hobby)
don't worry, the female will sit on them when she is done laying eggs. The babys will hatch close together, in the female doing this.:)

i just got 4 parrolets 2 green 1 yellow and 1 blue a blue and green are sitting on nest how long is the incubation period? how do i tell females from males?
From what I have been told about Parrotlets, from my own experiences as well as others...the green parrotlets have a darker blue flight feather as one of their primaries - IF they are male, without it, it's a female. If you complete a google search, you should be able to find images.

There is a wonderful Yahoo group devoted to Parrotlets. Many breeders are on that site and could answer your questions regarding breeding. Just know that you should not put the hatchlings on newspaper - paper towel is a better base. The newspaper is too slick and they will likely develop splay-leg...the paper towel has a bit more of a 'grip' to it and their legs will develop properly. Same is true for some commercially available 'nesting boxes' sold at pet retailers. The plastic is much too slick and causes developmental leg problems.

I adore my single female parrotlet. She's a cutie. Enjoy your flock!
