Just got the crud scared out of me.

gosh, i got the chills reading that!LOL

We put ours in before dark cause i can't see anything at night. I would have ran sooooooo fast! of course my husband would have been there laughing his *&# off

I dont even lock my doors and leave the keys in my truck at night, even at the store the keys are still hanging in the ignition. I actually dont know if the keys will come out anymore.

Ditto ! It is a wonderful way to live. I don't even know where the house keys are ~!

We travel when we work and it is hard for me to remember to remove the keys (and we lock the doors in some of the places we go to), I keep a spare set because I lock the keys in the truck several times a year.

Our chickens won't go in until dark, so we put a motion detector light at the coop. Hubby says at the rate they are going, by mid-summer they will be staying up past HIS bedtime~!

I too have taken to the habit of putting my girls to bed dusk. They seem to want to be out at night but don't seem to realize that there are things out there that want to eat them.

I used to lock my keys in my car a lot. My old barn manager used to keep a hanger and a screwdriver ready for me in the barn. I got really good after a while and could get my car open in less than 5 minutes.

I usually lock them up before dark but this time I was working on a final project I had to do. It just flipped me out lol. I think I watch way to many horror movies....lol Thinking something was going to grab my ankles and the run is only 4ft tall.

careful with peanut butter my cat loves it,in the summer my chickens end up roosting in the tree, the when it startes to get cold i have to fight to get them in the house for a while .iam really good at leaving my keys in the car and not locking my door my son locked my keys in the car (elec.lock)no extra set had to call the garage bet im going to get another set!

There are all kinds of preditors out at night and some are bad. I had a longtailed wild cat follow me through the woods and you had better bet the chills were there. When he screamed I thought I'd wet myself. I still shiver to think of it. This was during the day. Later he was killed by a local farmer. He tried to challenge him in the field while he was on the tractor. When you get the hebe jeebes there is a reason. It is our ancient safety device. Like when you feel someone is watching you and they turn out to be. Regard it with serious thought. Gloria jean

You took the words right out of my mouth. Trust your instincts...I doubt you would get a cold chill down your spine from a possom. Sounds more like a large predator, such as a coyote or cougar, bobcat, etc. I recommend putting your chickens in before dark and being armed if it close to nightfall.

I used to live in Grand Rapids, Michigan (second largest city in the state, I believe) and we had bears a few times that had to be taken away by the DNR - deer and coyote were common - you can get big predators anywhere.

(yeah, deer aren't predators, unless you're guarding your garden
