Something got to my chickens last night.

Two of my bantys were gone this morning, a RIR was found dead with a leg missing, and one of my Buffs had a leg that was only hanging by a thread of skin.

She was in such obvious pain, and looked very shocky. It was a kindness to put her down. It was very hard for me because I've never killed anything on purpose before.

I would have asked DH to do it, but I was the one that had raised her from a day-old chick, so I felt that I should be the one to do it. My only consolation is that she isn't in any pain now.
