JUST HATCHED...food ok?

Chick feed prices jumped way up, so I’ve been feeding layer crumbles this year cuz they were way cheaper. Haven’t seen any problems.
I did look at the calcium content, and it was only a difference of 3% instead of 1%.
You won't see problems, if any, in the short term. It's a long term issue so I wouldn't expect any issues to crop up this soon.

The difference of 3% vs 1% can be enough to cause problems. Again, long term.

The main issue with the grower feed you have is the particles might be on the large side for chicks, so crushing them down would help, as would providing grit to ensure they can break down the grain pieces.

I personally prefer a crumble for chicks at the very beginning (I use a hatch-to-hen, which is the same as "all flock"), so that's a little lower protein than most chick feeds just as most grower is a little lower in protein.
