Not able to tell until they lay an egg or crow....

(no offense to you, not trying to offend you as a newbie, it takes practice to tell the gender) When you post them on here, we can usually tell at six weeks!
1. Cockeral
2. Pullet
3. Cockeral
4. Cockeral
5. Pullet
6. Cockeral
7. Cockeral

Sorry...only two pullets and five cockerals. Those are some giant combs for 11 weeks. So if you keep a roo and the two pullets, you'll definitally need more chickens for the hen to roo ratio.

I think #4 and #6 are boys, the rest look like girls, but I'm not positive.

No offense taken at all! I am laughing pretty hard at that comment too. My 2 year old niece can even pick out hen or rooster in her toddler-aged farm animal books. Sounds funny now that I think of it. Just got a lot to learn.

Also, not so sure #4 or #6 are hens (despite my deepest of hopes). We have officially witnessed both crowing. We have never witnessed #3 crowing, but I trust that you all are correct in your unanimous vote for his being a roo. Actually #1 and #4 do most of the crowing, the other two have just started doing so over the past few days. #1 is the only one that can manage a proper and clear cocka-doodle-doo and #4 still gets a frog in his throat at the very end, (like a pubescent teenage boy with his voice cracking).

Thanks to everyone who took the time to reply. Now I'm off to read up on how to "rehome" roosters before resorting to placing them on the dinner table. When it comes to slaughtering animals, my husband and I are total wimps!!

2 & 5 are pullets... 6 im thinking pullet... but Im not 100% on that one. ... the rest... roos. Ooh boy.
