Just HOW loud are call ducks?

Except for the fact that you can sell them on ebay for a minimum of $20 a dozen...more if they're good quality Calls.
Impractical...I think not!

I have a little snowy call that is as loud as anything I've heard.
My mallard and call drake then had two beautiful ducklings which turned out to be females - I now have 3 ducks who are just as loud as each other but with slightly different pitches...
And yes; coming and going from the yard results in a cacophony!
It's ace though, it sounds like a high pitched cackling which even has the neighbours chuckling along!
They don't do it while in the coop though so I don't have issues with noise at unsociable hours.

I would heartily recommended calls - and if you want eggs get a couple of Campbells as they are as prolific as they come and adorable to boot :)

Edit - so no; more call ducks does not equal less noise! 2 calls doubles the noise, 3 triples it etc etc!

UGH!! thanks - she is ok as long as she can wrangle the 5 month old chickens or the 6week old chicks but if they refuse to let her push them around - man - she gets under a window to the house and has a fit...

Hehe, yeah. Calls are definitely pushy when it comes to letting you know what they want! But I love 'em. They have such unique personalities. Kinda remind me of aussie shepherds - loud, hyper, bombastic and yet very sweet-natured. <3

I have the LOUDEST CALL DUCK lady ever - anyone know if I get another one - or Drake if she will quiet down a little?

Maybe, i had a loud one funny enough after all the kids came this year she isn't as loud lol But really at the end of the day call females are LOUD so if noise is a concern they are not always the best breed.

Is she alone? that would definitely make her louder.

Yes, they will wake you to have you come out and feed them.

They will quack at each other, too. There will be ONE very vocal girl who bosses everybody around, loudly. Get out of MY pool, get out of MY way at the feeder, don't go away without ME going with you, the air is particularly tasty today, I have the prettiest feathers, your bill is in MY way, the ground is not wet enough, the holes we're drilling to China are NOT deep enough yet, get out of MY personal hole to China, and where are MY peas!?!?!?!

But they're SO FREAKIN' CUTE!
