Sorry to hear about the loss of your chicken. Unfortunately it does happen to all of us at some point. :hugs
After you've quarantined your new birds and made sure they're healthy, the best way to introduce them is the "See but don’t touch" method. Sometimes you can let them free range together because there's lots of space to run away. At night you can place the new pullets on the roost next to the RIR, then separate again in the morning.

Hi Cait and welcome to our community. I hope that you enjoy your time here.

This is a useful link of BYC guides to take a look at announcements-feedback-issues-guides.3 (there's a guide on how to include your location under your avatar, which will be helpful). You can use this link to contact members in your area - Find your State's thread.

Best wishes

Hi, I have just a small hobby farm with a couple of chickens and a couple of goats. I seem to always land on this group/site when I google questions, haha. So I thought I would join the community! Hopefully I will even be able to help someone/answer questions in return, if I ever accumulate a confidence of wisdom on a subject, haha. So far seems I mostly have questions :). Thanks for all the answers I’ve found to questions already! So far looks like a positive and helpful community. Thanks for allowing me to join!
Welcome!
