Just Layer food?

Our chickens are 19 wks old. On layer food for a little over a week now. We have 4 or five that have started to lay. Nice hard shells. Except today I found a soggy shell being pecked at on the coop floor. And once I found a hard but crumbled up egg like thing in the nest. I chalked that one up to a failed first try. Is that the same for the soggy one or do I need to add to the diet?? When do I add other supplements in general? I use the brand sold a TSC for food. Thanks!

By soggy do you mean no shell or thin shell. If there was no shell or a thin shell, you will want to put a dish of oyster shell out for them.
