I'm sorry you lost a chick, I did today too. Out of the 9 that I have, I've lost one and she was sickly a few hours after I brought her home. I tried Poultry Drench and vitamins & electrolytes. I'd keep those on hand in case you run into any other problems.
I bought my Nutri-Drench from eBay but I did see it at my TSC the last time I went. Vitamins are the Poly-vi-Sol without Iron given to newborn babies!Where would I get the vitamins and nutri drench? That might be a better idea if I have any others with a problem instead of the sugar water.
I am so sorry you lost a little one too........ So sad. I went to TSC this afternoon and got some Nutri Drench to have on hand in case anyone else has problems. But praying they will all continue to thrive. And I also made a trip to Rural King and looked at their babies. I couldn't resist--I came home with 2 RIR pullets!I'm sorry you lost a chick, I did today too. Out of the 9 that I have, I've lost one and she was sickly a few hours after I brought her home. Thank you Nancy for info about the Poly vi Sol. Will be picking that up this evening at Walgreens! I so appreciate everyone's input here!I bought my Nutri-Drench from eBay but I did see it at my TSC the last time I went. Vitamins are the Poly-vi-Sol without Iron given to newborn babies!
They have it at drug stores, Target, Walmart etc. I think the Nutri Drench is nice to have as part of a first aid kit even when they are older.
good luck and keep us posted
