Oh, When will I see an egg? That is what my kids are asking me. As I understand, when you move chickens from a home to a new home they sometimes do a little egg strike? Just tonight I was reading about the combs and colors. Some of mine are redder than others. I have a couple that spend lots of time going in the coop and scratching the bedding, and making little nest like indentations. But no eggs yet. I have nesting boxes, but noone has been in them, except the one buff orp. that I placed in there.. she gave me a look and jumped down. Just patiently waiting. 4 of them were hatched on Valentine's Day and 2 were hatched March 6. The lady I got them from didn't really know that they were all laying as she had a larger flock, but suspected they were.... So... until I see an egg, i will just wait. The past two nights they have perched themselves on the roost, rather than me putting them there and this is our 5th night together!! So we are going in the right direction!!
