I totally feel for you. I bought a gallon of milk last week at our local country store/grocery and it was $6.49 a gallon!

Hey have you tried Big Lots ??? I bought Kraft there yesterday for $2.00 after seeing this thread I wish I had bought more. Big Lots has great prices on Cereal too. I bought the huge box of KIX there for $3.00 . And that is over 5.00 at Wal-Mart. I used the Publix penny item this week also toliot paper 4 rolls for a penny. Can't beat that!!

I am now using coupons. Really never bothered in the past, now I'm kind of addicted. I want to learn how to get my groceries for free or close to it without buying stuff that I don't need. We are eating a lot more beans and cornbread these days, but they are so good.

I like the Clover Valley brands sometimes at the Dollar Stores.. their mayo and salad dressings are very good.....

Did I mention I'm addicted to Hellman's mayo, and dislike most of the other brands I've tried? There was a thread on here about BLT sandwiches and everyone reported on their favorite mayo, so I know there are other Hellman's addictions out there...

Everyones food has gone up. A 35 lb bag of dog food cost me $22 last year this time, this year it is $28. The Our indoor birds food was $11 now it is $16. I am not sure how the people who are at the beginning of the price change can justify that much of an increase. People on fixed incomes just do without food, or they cut off the air conditioner even though it is 100 degrees outside, or quit taking their medications.

I'm a diehard Hellman's fan... If I could make my own to taste like theirs, I'd never buy it again. LOL Butttttt.... DH has lost my blender in the move, I don't have an immersion blender and I have no idea how else to make mayo... UGH. It'd cost me 3x as much to make my own because I'd have to buy an appliance. Go figure
