JUST PLUMB DISTURBING...

Quote:
It's flippin hysterical when I think about how much fun we used to have as teenagers doing it. But we were just passed out on alcohol (which is just as bad, dont get me wrong.) But kids are doing much harder things these days.

That video just made my stomach turn for some reason though.

I don't know where the ad came from and it is disturbing but the point is that as parents are we in control of our children? Who do we trust them to? As parents we most certainly have the right to choose their friends , where they go and who they hang out with, until they are old enough to make wise decisions. Your childrens friends at school may be fine but what about their parents? My kids were not allowed to be around their cousins. I can't go into the details but it was a good thing.

I have to say it was kind of boring to me honestly. If your going to do silly things to your friends while they are passed out then atlease do something really good. But yeah the point gets across. Get your friends drunk so that you can do funny things to them. XD

So true! so true! Just a juvenile prank.
The pit in the stomach feeling comes from realizing that there could be far worse consequences; to that kind of loss of control.

I didn't have the volume on, but there's no way she slept through that.

Of course, I've never been drunk, so what do I know.

And to think, when I was 12 I was playing baseball with the neighborhood kids on a vacant lot. About that time I wanted to wear lipstick. My parents had this big discussion and they finally decided I could wear pink! Not everything was great in the good ole days but they are looking better and better.

Ummm... it wasn't that disturbing. People could do that to me so easily. Trust me you don't need to be on Anything to have that happen.
And as far as controlling your kid's/kids' friends....

We'll just say that it won't help (generally). People start figuring out who they want to be around at a young age. And if they never hang around bad people because "mom and dad say so"
1) it gets snuck (is that a word?.. they sneak it?)
and/or
2) they never truely believe it, or get to learn from the consequences of hanging out with bad people.
It doesn't apply to everyone, I know, parent as you wish, but that's Just What I've Observed.
JMHO.

You can't choose their friends, but you can control when they leave the house! Of course, my oldest is only 14. Not looking forward to the next few years.

It's hard to know what kids to trust, as well. Kids show a great face around their friends parents, but their true colors come out when parents aren't around. Very scary. I know from experience.

That little clip is hard to watch. I hope it is all acting, but you know this happens all the time.
