Just put a bunch of cool eggs under broody!

Just picked up dozen eggs from a local breeder. He's won the overall poultry ribbon at our regional fair more than once, and wins ribbons for his Javas especially. Anyway, I've got 3 Mottled Java eggs (he started his javas 10+ years ago from someone in texas), 3 white cochin eggs, 2 EE, and i forgot what the other 4 are.. at least some are delawares. Nice heritage delaware. very excited!!! I slipped them under my broody Chantecler and she snuggled up on them. I did have to rearrange her a bit to get all the eggs covered. I marked them, so I don't get infertile eggs snuck under her by the other hens. YAY!!!

Thanks! I just went out and my only other chantecler (same age, same hatchery) has stolen 3 of Uncle Gumby's eggs, and is sitting on them herself! I'm going to keep a close eye, and put them back under Auntie Laamie if Gumby gets off. I'm so excited! I don't think I can wait 3 weeks!
