I'm not sure where you are located, but I can only wish it were cold here! Our temps topped out at 105 today.

QLD Australia it has warmed up though still not that hot!

Don't worry! We basically use the washing basket to keep old linen and stuff in that we're not using and probably never going to use again. The hens discovered it and decided it's a nest box dream come true. It's a deep, wide basket with space for up to 3 hens at a time. I put the washing in the machine as it comes and when the machine is full it's time to wash.
I've never had an egg explode on me before. What does it look like:lol:
The weather's lovely here by us now, good timing. Last summer the temperatures got up to 128+ every day for a week and I had two hens sitting. The eggs went off under them and only one chick hatched. A roo called Miracle. Should've called him Hot Stuff or something...

Oh you do not need to look at a egg to know that its off......................................................................

Holy cow is right! We have had 50+ days of temps over 100 degrees so far and I don't see it cooling off anytime soon. That's Texas for you though! On another note our broody decided she didn't like the box she had chosen so she moved to another one. Luckily my husband saw her and was able to move the eggs under her again. Hope she wasn't off of them too long.
