Plug it in and wait a few hours and see if its changed position. Mine is silent. I also got my Genesis and turner from HB&B. I'm very pleased with mine. You'll see it turn like every 4 hours, but you won't actually "see it turning". You'll just notice its changed position since the last time you looked.

You might check the little arm that comes off the motor to make sure it's in the slot. One of mine wasn't in the slot and it won't turn if it's not.

Good advice! I've checked the arm and it seems fine. Still hasn't moved but I will leave it on till it does. Thanks guys!

It does move painfully slow. When I first started using them I'd set my timer for 60 minutes and then go check to see if had moved.

I don't blame you Katy. I was worried because I have eggs on the way. I should have thought of this possibility, because if it was broken, I'll be throwing out 42 fertile eggs shipped in from the mainland. 18- Black Australorps, 12- Ameraucanas, and 12- New Hampshires.
