I had moved my broody hen to the broody coop last night, and put her on 6 peafowl eggs. I checked her this morning, she is still on the eggs!

I will try to take pictures of her sitting on the eggs.

It is rainy here, luckily Pip is in a dog box so she won't get all wet while she is on the eggs. I found a smashed egg shell a few feet away on the ground. I bet she pushed it out of the nest because it was bad. It is great to have a peahen set on her own eggs! I don't have to worry about them as much!

One of my eggs is at day 20 of incubation, yesterday it looked good and dark when I candled it.

UPDATE: we had a power outage last bight!

will that really affect them since they were only in the bator for 1 day?

I put a Buff Orpington in a cage with some eggs on Tueaday to see if she would stay on them, and she is. Then my pea eggs came in Thursday, and after letting them sit for 15 hours I took them out to the broody. She was mad when I took her off of her eggs, then when I reached over to get her to put her back she bit me! That actually smarted! When I got her back in the nest box, she stood there looking out at the eggs that I just removed. Once I got all of the eggs out of her site, she settled down on the pea eggs and made sure that they were all tucked under her. I put 4 there, and have two that will be going into the incubator because they have ruptured air cells. I won't hold my breath, but I gotta try. Now the waiting starts...

Pip isn't setting anymore. She broke all the eggs...I am guessing maybe they were bad and so she destroyed them? Who knows...
