When should I candle the eggs that I put in?

You can candle at 10 days. you can candle them sooner though but 10 days seems to be pretty good for seeing the veins. I have been candling mine almost every day just because I like to see how they are doing a lot.

There is some debate about too much handling and candling of developing eggs, and whether it does any harm or not. I am sure how it is done makes a huge difference as well, such as having a super powerful light on for too long, or grease/bacteria on hands etc.

Anywho, I am firmly in the camp of no more candling than is necessary, especially when I have super precious eggs, even though it is soooooo tempting to just check one more time

. Since I stopped doing that my hatching results improved dramatically.

Well the oldest egg is due next week, it is looking good I candled it this morning and it was moving around. The other eggs I need to candle today and see how they are doing but so far it sort of looks like both Spalding Charcoal eggs are developing, although one is hard to tell because it is porous and that makes it harder to see the veins. I probably should cut down on how much I candle, but whenever I candle I make sure my hands are clean.

Yeah I haven't been doing much with my DeviantART account, whenever I get on it freezes up a lot or is slow and I get tired of seeing all the art on there because it makes me feel like a lame artist so I just don't get on there much anymore.

I don't think it affected them because they were barely in for 12 hrs... Only time will tell

I candled the five eggs from Deerman a minute ago since today is day 10 for them. One of the eggs is clear, I think one of them has a broken air cell, another has a blood ring and now the two that I thought were doing well are now looking similar to the blood ring one. I am still keeping them in the incubator because some could still be good but just don't seem like it. The egg from my peafowl was moved to the other incubator with more humidity after I candled the other eggs since tomorrow it will need more humidity and I don't want to keep it with the other eggs incase if a bad egg were to contaminate it or something. I hate to be planning for this egg to hatch since it makes me feel like it will hatch since knowing what has been happening lately it might not or something might go wrong, but we have to get food for it...

What is the peachick feed again? Isn't it a medicated starter feed? Should this be at our feed store? Is it for chickens or turkeys or pheasants? What brand do you recommend? I really hope we get to even use starter feed for a peachick in a few days...I also really hope our feed store has the right feed for it.

Wait I was just reading that eggs do better on their side then the automatic turners?? If so I need to get the auto turner out asap!!!
