SLBS = Silver Laced Brahmas?? I saw last night that Greenfire Farms is now promoting & selling the SLB & BLB birds.

it will only be a matter of time before all of those breeds are a dime a dozen...just like what's happened to the Light Sussex and now the Coronation. Two years ago, those were selling for $200/dozen and now you can get them for $19.99/dozen on eBay.

You're on the same train as me. When I first saw the Brahma thing on GFF, I was, umm, let's just say upset.

That is a shame they are on Ebay-I have never seen them on Ebay-I dont really pay attention to ebay

I've had an account with them for 10 years but have never bought or sold chicken related items from it. I don't know where GFF got hers-I havent looked. I got my birds-not eggs-from Big Meds in Oct. My job is to improve and preserve not sell the heck out of them for all their worth. ( I am not saying GFF is- but Im not) I go to him for all questions regarding these birds-they are after all, IMO, his birds that Im just raising. What I do with these birds -all depends on what he feels I should-I get his opinions first and foremost. I havent had to ask much at this point since they are still babies in my eyes..I say babies because the gentleness and love these birds have remind me of a baby) They are on the verge of laying now-so all Im looking forward to is to have a nice hatch or two from them and letting them enjoy an awesome coop and run that has been built just for them. These birds are amazing and such loving gentle birds. They will not be exploited nor sold to death-Not by my hands. I may say I have them but I dont plan on allowing them outside my reach for exactly the reasons you stated ( allthough there are a few folks that he specifically named to feel free to share some eggs with-those folks he knew well and trusted) . -I gave him my word and I plan on sticking to that 100%-if people can't trust you on your "word" -what do you and others have to rely on??? NADA- Ill have to check out GFF's out of curiosity now. Honestly, I dont pay attention who has what-

i had 5 sets of eggs ranging is price from $50 to $100 a dozen, and lost all of those along with 120 other eggs (lavender ameraucanas, black ameraucanas, BLRW, EE, split ameraucanas, Bantam gamefowl) in our Christmas Eve house fire.

Talk about a huge loss..........Anyone have any eggs to donate?? LOL
