Just WHEN is mating season?

Just wondered because I couldn't find it in my book...when does mating season typically start and end? I'm hoping to get more fertile duck eggs and need to know my time frame.

For our ducks it seems to be all year round.

LOL...ok...how about EGGS? Do you get fertile eggs all year??

Lol...ok...good to know because when I first got my ducks last year...I waited and waited and waited...NO EGGS UNTIL THIS SPRING!! I think maybe the hut they had before we built the new one was too small and dark and it may have inhibited them from laying.I'm hoping to find out a time frame that's good for hatching eggs.

Yep.

All of our eggs that I've checked so far have been fertile! We have a 3/13 drake/hen ratio.

We have 3 female Khakis and get 3 eggs every day.

Our other girls are still too young to lay. They did stop laying during the winter for awhile and I'm not sure why,maybe just the temperature/season, but when they are laying, it's every day. I should have looked around for some eggs today because they've been free range lately and I would hate to find a week old egg and not know how old it really is!
