See, that is how I've always felt and why its hard to understand some people's opinions on the issue. They want to kill a person for killing someonelse, but that's just hippocritical. I would rather have to pay the taxes to keep them in jail. Issues like this hard hard to keep clear, especially if you are religious. You have the "eye for an eye" and the "thouh shalt not kill" counteracting each other, and I think the majority of the time people choose what is easier. When you have someone who commits a crime that unspeakable, its hard to accept that all the get is 3 square meals a day, a fully equipped gym, and free medical services.
Its the same with gay marrige. You are supposed to treat others the way you want to be treated and hate the sin, not the sinner. Those two things counteract themselves and its impossible to treat your fellow man like you would yourself and want the best for them, and look them in the face and deny them something that will make them happy. We just have to do what we feel is best and hope that God is influencing us in those decisions. Things are hard and life sucks, that's just how it is.
(P.S. - Please don't get upset by my opinion. I don't want to create any argument or get the thread closed. I know that can easily happen with this type of post, so lets try not to let it.)
