I have no problem executing for the most henious crimes. Where is the deterrent in 3 squares a day, TV, and a weight room? Mild consequences lead to increased crime.

It would appear that the death penalty isn't much of a deterrant either.

i saw what was left after a murdering *^%#%^ killed his family and fled to mexico...That dead baby in the morgue. I identified her. I lost my compassion for all peoples that day. The feds brought him back and now he's on death row, waiting, its been almost 10 years, and the jerk REMARRIED some dumb ass lady with children, who didn't care what he did to his last family he was supposed to love and protect. That doesn't seem right and he's not punished for what horrors he's done. We pay to keep him alive, well, and socially accepted as far as jailhouse marriages are concerned. I'd kill him myself if I could get to him. I'm human. We are all vicious. And oh yeah I'm a veteran too, US Army.

The statistics just show that they all have not been caught and justly

you see no connection?? wow, you've got blinders on my friend. and how do you know prisoners don't expect a glorious award? i know for a fact that Richard Rameriz professed that he believed satan would reward him because of his murders.

and you know what, thank you for "nursing spouses back to health." but sir or ma'am...I WAS THERE.
if this person you "nursed back to health" is still hungry for death and killing and applauds the death penalty on a regular basis, he/she has some real problems.
i believe people can be redeemed.
forgiveness.
hope.
of course, some individuals are just plain crazy and should be locked up forever.

Such a sad story.I remember watching the dad,husband,and woman who called 911 talk about it.

I have read sooooooo many stories about people taken from or killed in the home.Dh thinks I am over the top when I lock the gate and doors.Sorry but it only takes a second for someone to decide they want to....do what they want to do.Reminds me of the woman who was working in her yard,and a man who was out on the hunt for a woman to rape saw her.He broke in their house and shot her husband then kidnapped her.She survived and was able to call 911 from his home.She was just working in her yard like I do all the time!

Things like this really make me want to beef up my home security,but again dh thinks I am being over the top when I talk about better doors,windows,locks,security alarms,and guns.Maybe I am but I think I would sleep better if we did more beyond what we have now.
