I have a pair of muscovy ducks that were incubated and raised in the house with me. They are about 4 months old now and live outside.https://photos.app.goo.gl/yotajwc8HAcMBVEe8
He beats up the female and bites if I get too close. I've been trying to gently pet his chest (mistake?) in the hopes that I can teach him that touching him won't hurt him. Will he mellow out with age? I'm thinking that he may turn out to be human aggressive, so I'm not sure what to do proceeding forward. Any advice is appreciated, thank you!
My female is a sweetie and somewhat independent, but my drake has become aggressive!
I have tried pinning him down...chasing with a broom...and just staying away from him. None of that really worked. He almost stalks me. Would wait by my car so I felt like I was his prisoner...hahaha.
My daughter suggested spraying him with vinegar......and guess what!
I sprayed a steady stream at his open mouth when he came to attack....No More Problems
He hates it and gives me my space now. Of course all my house guests may need to be armed, but at least I know how to manage him .
