you are too funny!!!

My Great grandmother on my mom's side was 1/4 Cherokee. They all say I take after her a lot. She was quite a card!

I fell blessed to be able to say I have Cherokee on both sides. My mom would tell us about it but if you asked anyone else in her family they would tell you no way, but I had a cousin that found the information that makes me 1/16 on my mothers side and I don't know how much on my fathers.

I have indian somewhere down the line but I dont know which it is... somewhere a relative has a picture of my great great something or another standing next to her Tee Pee - but she wont give any of us a copy of it.

Dumb woman... LOL

Cherokee on my grandmothers side (mom's mom) and Blackfoot on my grandfathers side (mom's dad) funny the looks skipped her and went to me. LOL She has fair skin, eyes, and hair. I on the other hand have darker skin, eyes, and hair. I would look at my grandfather and picture a big head-dress on him. He had such a chiseled nose and jaw that he could have cut a piece of wood.

I sure do miss him. If he had lived he would be 104 years old this year.

My grandfather was Cherokee. His father was killed on the TOT. My grandfather lived very much of the Indian culture---from his beliefs, gardening, nature, fellow man.

Anyone have info on Little Texas Community, south of Nashville, TN? Apparently, Occaneechi-Saponi settled there and intermarried with white settlers. (These are said to be Siouan-speaking Indians.)

I just discovered this family info from a photo recently, although we knew there was Indian blood in our family. Internet info has the tribes in North Carolina, Virginia, etc. It's interesting.
