Kat’s Journey into Chicken Keeping

Pics
So, I did it. I bought ceramic eggs to put in the nest boxes. The girls were fascinated. They were wondering what on earth we put in their nests!

I think the ceramic eggs were not welcome. This morning I found them kicked out of the nest, along with most of the nice soft hay I had put in there.
I hope this isn’t an indication of the kind of mothers they will be. Lol. 😱
Put them back. It had nothing to do with the eggs. They were scratching to see if there is food. Mine do that. I just put the eggs back.

Did you ever find out who moved your blue egg, @BY Bob?

This is Princess Chicken, named by our veterinarian.
And that face photobombing in the background is her best friend Gracie.
Princess is my house chicken now, because she has a lame leg.
Just wondering if I should trim her beak? She’s developing an overbite! Lol
