Today there has been an important milestone at The Chicken Lounge!
Princess Chicken has laid her First Egg!

Princess Chicken is my lame little girl, the one with the “sticky-outie-left lower leg. (She has become quite good at hopping where she wants to go on her good leg).

She looks like a little princess...what a sweet face! The eggs will get bigger!

A creamier texture. Interesting. I can't quite picture that.

If I remember correctly the yolk is thicker than a chicken yolk...if that makes it easier!

Thank you. I think they are too, but I know I’m partial. I love them, I have gotten so attached to them.
They know when I have bugs, they recognize the little brown paper bag from True Value. They are immediately on the alert.
It’s so funny, Blanche was in the coop and she stuck her head out the door, then flew out the door and stood and looked at me. I tried to get a picture but she was too fast.

They are clever. mine all know the little blue & white tea cup I bring treats in & break all barriers to be first to reach me!

Leghorns are exceptional at identifying food.
