Kate! Kate to the Nigi help desk!

I'm very sorry for your loss. Hopefully this will help encourage all the people on this thread to wait the full year before they breed their does. I'm sorry it happened.

The vet did a very nice job!

With cows c-sections are done standing up. It was strange seeing one done with her laying down. Hopefully she won't develope any infection and all goes well for her.

I know it is hard to tell the size of her but she is only about 12 - 14 inches tall, Kitty. There is no way she could have had a different anesthesia and stood up for surgery. She was restrained and positioned for the ease of the vet and the surgery.

My sympathy for you and your family, this is certainly not the ending we have all wished for you. Maybe your tragedy will help to educated others and prevent similar losses.

I understand that. It's just that when one is used to seeing c-sections done standing up it's strange seeing them done laying down.

I'm so sorry for your loss. As you said in your post, now it's time to move on and make sure Cocoa makes it back to a full recovery
