My mom says they're filled with lots of bad stuff and people sinning, so we don't watch them.
We don't watch TV either, we don't even have a TV.
Sometimes we watch history or wildlife documentaries, but I don't watch them as much as everyone else in my family, because I would rather be on BYC chatting with you or answering people's questions.
It's also a great time for me to do something productive like canning when they're all watching a documentary because then they aren't in my way.

Do you prepare all the food in your house?

But you have a phone or computer or whatever device you BYC on? The phone opens up the whole unsensored world of the Internet. If I were your mother, concerned about 'sinful' behavior in every movie on earth, then I wouldn't dare let my child touch a phone :th think of the doors that could open.

Just my 2 cents, not meant to attack you or your mother.

Yeah, pretty much. Like I said earlier, we still buy a few things that we can't grow or produce ourselves, but for the most part, we do prepare everything we eat. We certainly don't eat out if that's what you're asking. We make everything from scratch at home and cook it at home with the exception of a few things that we have to buy because we can't grow them in ND.

No I mean do YOU personally cook all of your family's meals.

Yes, I use my mom's kindle to BYC on. I understand that the internet has a world full of sin going around on it.

I'm not very good at explaining things, so I don't know if this is going to make any sense, but I'll do my best to explain this to you.

In my mom's opinion, it's different then actually watching someone act out something that is sinful. That doesn't make the sin on the internet ok, it's just that it's different when you're on the computer, because you're not just watching the sin on it for entertainment.
My mom does trust me to look around on the internet, though. She knows I'm not going to intentionally search out bad things. The rest of my siblings usually have to be supervised if they want to be on the computer, though, because my mom doesn't trust them for legitimate reasons.

Like I said, I'm not very good at explaining things, so let me know if that doesn't make sense to you.

No, not all the time. It depends on the time of the year, what's going on, and how busy my mom is. A few years ago, when we were expanding the gardens a bunch, then I cooked all the meals. Right after she had my newest baby brother, about 3 months ago, I cooked all the meals.
Lately though, my mom has not been quite as busy and she's been cooking most all of our meals. Well, with one exception, I guess I do usually cook our Sabbath meals, partly because mom is not always home on Fridays. But usually if she's home I still cook them anyway - not always, but usually.
Maybe you're asking because I keep talking about what I've been canning lately, but canning is something entirely different then cooking our everyday meals.
Canning is preserving the harvest that we bring in every year from the garden and from foraging, it's not cooking our everyday meals.
