Beloit is pretty close to me.
If you were on the highways, that would make sense. 99% of all dairy farms in WI are privately owned and operated. You'll find them on the backroads, hidden amongst the cornfields.
 
We did take some back roads and did see cows in the fields there. We took the most direct route so I-90 to Janesville then 26 through Ft. Atkinson, Watertown, hit I-41 to Appleton then Green Bay. They were doing a lot of work on 26 and must have put up a hundred bazillon tons of concrete making flyovers in Green Bay :thFrom there 41 to Marinette and points north. Actually several trips were the reverse of that getting to Beloit. Found a chicken forum friend in Seymore so we headed up 47 out of Appleton to visit on the way north.
