You have such a colorful mix The plant thingy almost looks like chives, what's it smell like? When I made the choice to focus on rare breeds, it makes for a boring flock. I have pure white birds, barred black birds as well as a few Delaware and leghorns left. Although I may sell the leghorn roo back to the original breeder. He's a spectacular IL leghorn.

The plant thingy smells like a chive, it could be one, I don’t know and thank you, if you can’t tell, I like colorful things You have a couple hundred birds don’t you?

close to it. Some that are not survival oriented wander in the bad lands and all I find is a pile of feathers. Birds that stay close to home and demonstrate good survival instincts get to be in the breeding program.

I’m going to sell all cockerels from this incubated batch, btw. All current cockerels are staying here, at least until serious problems arise. Napoleon will go to my neighbor for breeding in a few months as his rooster turned on one of his young children and was killed. And once I get my bigger coop built I’ll hatch more chicks or buy some

Dave is doing better than ever. His legs seem to be healing and he's actually succesfully mounting the hens.
