Just to cover a few things - no, it never goes away, it’s always in the back of your (my) mind. Anything and everything spikes it, it just happens. Let me just tell you, friends & pets help

I've always been a tad bit scared of horses. Though I always have and always will love them a lot. I went to a horse camp for a week last summer and it was super awkward because the second oldest kids besides me and my sisters were like ten years old ;-; And all of the kids could ride way, way better than us since we had ridden horses virtually none before that.
The camp gave me a little confidence boost around horses but I'm still afraid to get bucked off

Even though I love horses (too much), I do get you though. I sort of have an irrational fear of large horses called drafts (you can look them up- draft horses). Some are gentle on the ground, but I've ridden one who is wild and crazy. I now just assume if they are over 17 hands, they are insane and want to kill me. Yet I ride ponies all of the time that are insane and truly want to kill me, and I love them.

I know drafts. Yeah they are huge I always think of them as gentle though.
I think I would prefer to ride a pony though. Small and cute and possibly able to support my weight (I am very lightweight).

Ahhh... some ponies are small and cute. But after riding the insane ones, they sort of lose the cuteness. Sometimes the smaller, the naughtier.

IKR! Isn't it always frigid when there's no chance of precipitation but when there is, nature just decides it's gonna be 31-34*F? Today, it literally just snowed and then rained, and then froze. And repeat.

But, better than last year.
