Kayla’s Flock!

I'm really, really going to hate leaving home..
Animals are literally the only thing keeping me sane and alive sometimes; they're the only thing irl that I care about. When I leave and go to college without any animals to care for I'm going to be in serious mental trouble. I'm not kidding.

My very wise grandmother, who overcame more obstacles - major and minor - than most of us could ever imagine, gave me the most sane and sound advice I've ever had. It was one simple line. "Never borrow trouble against tomorrow."

Her meaning? Do what you need to get you and yours through today before you wear yourself out fretting over things that haven't happened, yet. College is definitely out there, but it's later, "tomorrow." Concentrate on what you need to get through your immediate circumstances. Tomorrow will be here in its' own time. Plan for it, yes, but leave the actual worry for when it actually gets here.

You've got this, Girlfriend. And we've got your back.

Mine have the option rain or shine, some are devout free rangers others will hang out under the tarps. Yesterday we got over an inch of rain, DS went out to put the birds away about a half hour early as it stopped raining for a bit. Ducks were like: "Nope it isn't time yet, we're not going." He went back out in the pouring rain at the normal time and they formed their single file line and went right in.
What a GREAT visual! Thanks for the smile! :)

Well, see above post for the importance of my animals to my mental health.

This is where my parents are right now with the animals:
Rehome my two dogs because they are too much to handle, butcher all chickens because of economics, euthanize my senior cat when he starts to go downhill in health.

See the problem here? They get rid of the animals and then my stability is gone.

Talk to your doctor about getting a certified therapy animal. You may even be able to qualify one of your current pets. Once you have the "prescription" for one, you'll be able to take it with you to college, or anywhere else you go. We have a young lady at church who did just that. She now has a little Shih Tzu who goes everywhere with her ... even to the WalMart. That little dog has made a HUGE difference in her life. She now has a job, a wonderful boyfriend and a life - something she nearly gave up six years ago. Hang in there Gal.

I'm thinking about it. My white Husky really helps with anxiety as is.
