Kayla’s Flock!

Hey, I’m crying with you. I got a call from my neighbor that my dog, Coco has eaten a good bit of his rat poison. I cursed him out, and it honestly wasn’t his fault. She can’t stand, she won’t eat, she’s panting, I’m failing her. :(
I can’t afford any more vet trips. I feel so guilty:hit
Hydrogen peroxide.

I'm gonna buy alfalfa pellets too to stretch the feed as much as possible. 17% protein and good fiber in alfalfa pellets.
So sorry for you difficulties :hugs:hugs, but your choice to stretch feed is a good one.

Kayla, Most Rat poisons use a vitamin K blocker, get the dog a vitamin mix in his water. Or just supplement with Vitamin K. Google it "how to counteract rat poison." It might take you back to BYC, in one of these posts, rats were eating the poison and drinking the chicken's water were totally unharmed by it.:hugs:hugs:fl:fl

I think it’s too late, about 10 minutes ago she was barely breathing.... I’m not sure if I should go back out there or not

I hate school. I'm failing in almost everything and I really just feel like dropping, not going to college and living my life the way I want to live it.
I TOTALLY understand. Sometimes, I hate school, too ... and I'm the teacher!
Hang in there. You're halfway through the year. Find yourself a tutor. If you don't know someone, ask your teachers. They'll help. As nasty as they seem, sometimes, they really do want to see you succeed. You'll be surprised at how much better they are when you actually ask for - and use - extra help. And when the urge to "quit and live your life the way YOU want to," gets too strong, remember that living the way you want takes money - and the best way to make sure you have enough to live the way you'd really like to live is to suck it up, knuckle down and finish school. And that's not preaching coming from an educator, that's life lessons coming from someone who learned it the hard way ... much later than I should've and could've.
You can do this!
