Keep us in your thoughts...

Hope you and the hubby have a super speedy recovery!!
Cyn was right, nobody seems to see us bikers. So look out for all those idjits who don't watch out for you!. And sure glad you were wearing the right gear, it sure makes a difference.

glad you and DH will be ok in time! My DH is wanting to get a bike but they scare me(or should I say being on one and having uncourteous drivers nearby scares me!) I just can't see myself on one but he wants a Harley! Ya'll take care and be careful!! Best wishes and prayers to you!

Keep us updated on Skips recovery . Sometimes the recovery is the worst part . My mom was in a hospital bed for two months at our house with her injury . She's at almost 90% now after 3 yrs . Just make sure he pushes himself in PT even if they give up on him . I know it will take awhile for him to recover (even with your help) But things will get better . Hope you recover fast too ! I also hope you guys have insurance even though it wasn't your fault . DON'T settle for anything too low though ! My mom only got 50k and even though she seems normal , she's not . She's a very tough woman ,but most of the time lives in pain . ( She broke her leg in 20 places and is missing half the kneecap and half the tendons in her leg . when she hikes for more than 5 min. she trips because she can't lift her leg high enough .) Living in pain for the rest of your life is NOT worth 50k . Get what you can to pay off hospital bills , lawyers , etc. Good luck !

Dawn,

That's great that you are wanting to get back on and ride again. I didn't know it at the time, but after my tree cutting accident, my husband was using the chainsaw to cut up the tree that fell on me and I just started crying, couldn't stop crying and had chills all over. It was really the first time that I had cried and truly realized how close I was to dying. The sound of a chainsaw still gives me chills, but I'm getting use to it - we live in the country and hear chainsaws all of the time.

When it doesn't hurt your ribs so much, have a really good cry - I know it sounds silly, but it really made me feel better.

Praying for you and Skip,
Dana

hi y'all!!!

my possee came and busted me out of rehab on friday. thank you so much for all of your thoughts and encouragement. it's so great to be home with dawn and pepper and all of our other critters.

rehab was fantastic they got me geared up and working toward recovery right away. no wheelchair ! they've got me getting around exclusivly on a walker, i just can't put any weight on my right side for at least 6 weeks.

kanchii,
no he didn't get away, i've spent the afternoon researching biker lawyers on line.

my best friend helped me go get the bike today and bring it to our garage so we can call out our insurance co tomorrow. on the way home we dropped by the local harley guru's shop (panhead larry) and he took a preliminary look at our scoot....the prognosis is good for our iron baby. the ins co will probably total it so we'll buy it back salvage and have larry rebuild her.

gettin kinda tired... may have a good pic of the bike tomorrow.

cheers,
doc

So glad to hear your home doc and without the wheelchair. So glad to hear from both of you actually. Praying for your continued recovery.
