Well, it's been a good week for Skip...he had his cathater removed on Monday, his bladder has healed nicely and he is finished seeing that doctor.
I, on the other hand, have still not seen my doctor about my wrist. I was supposed to see him within 7 days of my discharge and that was on the 6th of this month. Nothing like dealing with snail mail communications with the confounded hospital...
We've been in contact with a lawyer, who rides also, and he will be handling both of our cases. We're busy getting all our paperwork in order at this time. We'll still be doing occassional updates here but we've been told to pretty much keep our mouths shut at this point in time...
Gonna be a bummer of a weekend here...in the 50's - 60's for the weekend and we can't ride...
Dawn - there will be lots of nice days for riding, glad to hear you and hubby are on the mend. Just keep that extra eye out for wayward drivers! (I'm sure you do)
Dawn- Keep meaning to check in here, but get sidetracked.Hope you both get on the mend and back on the road soon. Important to get that wrist checked soon, I know how dealing with lawyers and all makes things go slower.

It's a good thing Skip drives her atleast 5 mph under the speed limit when I'm riding "back-seat-driver" or else the kid that ran the red light would have hit us and it would have been waaaaay worse!
Meesh
Today 10:05 am OMG (((Dawn & Skip))). How scary. I would love to have a motorcycle, but the other people on the road scare me. That bike is going to need some serious work.
Cheers,
Michelle
It actually happened so fast that we didn't have time to be scared, a blessing in disguise, I think. I've loved motor bikes since I was a kid and while lying in the hospital, and on an emotional roller coaster had the thought that this was it, never getting on a bike again...it lasted about 2 seconds and I'm over it now. Got our local Harley guru lined up to fix her when we can afford to do so...are we there YET???

Oh, I know there will be but patience has never been one of my strong points.
Think we';ll be adding some reflective tape to our leathers to make us more visible too. After this mess, those wayward drivers better be looking out for us...I'll show no mercy!!!

Thanks Monica!
I should know something by next week at the latest.
And can hopefully go to the doc that's 30 minutes from us and not the alternative one that is almost 3 hours away...
Well, I'm numb so I'm gonna get off here and hobble out to spend time with the critters!
We'll keep your hubby in our thoughts and prayers for a safe trip. Skip used the scoot to ride back & forth from work and I'd always worry if he was late...
Dang hon, I'm feeling like a wuss for whining about a broke wrist and a few cracked ribs compared to what you've been through. Glad to hear you still enjoy riding!
Skip has been tossing around the idea of lowering the Sporty so that I'll be able to ride/drive her, too. I was hesitant about riding solo for months. Now, I'm getting excited about the idea, told him so, and he said that it would be hard to let me go...since he wouldn't be there to protect me...
...how sweet is that???
It's been so cool to find out that we aren't the only biker chicken lovers...I'm pretty sure that everyone here at home get tired of hearing me talk about ours!
Well, the local doctors office finally got my medical records, two weeks ago. So I call back to make the appointment to get an x-ray and hopefully get this confounded cast off. He's out of the office for the entire week.
The following Monday, I call back...he won't see me, unless I pay $$$ upfront because 1) it's been over 6 weeks and 2) I don't have health insurance.
They suggested I go back down to the hospital that's 3 hours away, one way, or go to the emergency room.
So we'll be going to the ER tomorrow and see if I can finally get the cast off.
Skip doesn't go back to the doc's until the end of April. I feel for him as he's tired of being stuck at home and dying to get back to work.
We stopped at the Harley shop just down the highway from us and I found my ride!!! It's a '49 Springer with a suicide shifter!!! Low enough that my feet would touch the ground and light-weight and nimble, too! Dang suicide shifter ruined it though...I don't drive a stick-shift very well, at all...
