Keeping a dust bath dry?!

Have you heard of a mass rocket stove.? I believe that is what they are called. You could run your stove pipe"chimney" under the sand. Have the heat barrel in the coop or run. Sorry to say it but killing 2 birds with one stone. Heating both run and coop. You can find plans by typing it in. One day is like to try to heat a barn using one, without potential of a fire, having fire box outside???
Our coop is far from the house... no other stoves and cant really afford one

I’m new to chickens and I just recently made a dust bath with DE sand and dirt. No idea if I put enough or too much DE. The bath is about 12 inches by 12 inches and about 3 inches deep. How deep should the dust bath be?

As deep as the chickens want to dig it. :)

Mine start out making shallow scraps and end up with their backs at ground level once they've used the same hole for a while.
