Is it possible to keep a rooster from crowing? We have the sweetest little cockerel, but we can't have a crowing rooster. He is about 5 weeks old, and is a New Hampshire. Any advice is appreciated (even if it's a 'No, you can't")
Thanks!

The only way i read is to put it in a cage where he cant fully extend his neck so therefore stops him crowing but i guess it would be best to do it at night and let him out in the morning thats the only way ive ever heard of doing it.
Okay, thanks. I dearly love this cockerel, and don't want him to end up as food. I know, I'm too attachedI will just have to find him another home.
It depends on the breed. If the breed is something desirable, you may be able to find him a nice home where he can roam with his girls and live out his life. If it is a mixed rooster, it may be harder to find him a home.. I hope you can though..![]()
No way to stop them from crowing. The cage thing is just plain inhumane.
