I see that many people dont keep their buttons in pairs. so i want to tell everyone why you should. in the wild cbbq are monagomous (which means kept in pairs) the are not in "colonies". if they are not kept in pairs but in colonies, that will lead to feather pulling, unknown parents/genetics, loss of birds, stressed, and less egg production. BQ are fine in a colony type house when they are UNDER 3 weeks old. they are not coturnix (1 male to 3 hens) and should not be treated that way. in many cases it is because they got to many birds/eggs/ chicks and dont have enough room/ cages for them. So, please keep your buttons in pairs, they will be happier and have a longer life.

thank you for reading.

Where do you see that most don't? There are very few on here that I know of that don't. Some keep in trios for lack of options, one in particular because the person has only 3 birds. I'd rather keep three together than one by itself. Believe me, there's no need to start a thread regarding this, there are several of us on here that jump all over people who house them otherwise

Like the saying 'no use beating a dead dog'...this topic has been well covered.
