I see that many people dont keep their buttons in pairs. so i want to tell everyone why you should. in the wild cbbq are monagomous (which means kept in pairs) the are not in "colonies". if they are not kept in pairs but in colonies, that will lead to feather pulling, unknown parents/genetics, loss of birds, stressed, and less egg production. BQ are fine in a colony type house when they are UNDER 3 weeks old. they are not coturnix (1 male to 3 hens) and should not be treated that way. in many cases it is because they got to many birds/eggs/ chicks and dont have enough room/ cages for them. So, please keep your buttons in pairs, they will be happier and have a longer life.
