keeping chickens in urban areas

I need Some Feedback.
For school we have to write An argument essay, I want to argue why chickens should be allowed in urban areas But I need some help thinking up some strong arguments supporting this because so far All I can think of is negative arguments:oops:
Thanks
What are the negatives you have? Often whether it is negative or positive is a matter of perspective or misinformation.

For any negative you think of, try and think of a positive counter point. So instead of destroying the garden you can talk about producing compost/fertilizer and replenishing the nutrients in the soil, and thus growing more beautiful gardens within the city, etc. Maybe it increases interactions with the neighbors in a positive way giving you a talking point/conversation starter, maybe you share eggs with your neighbors or your neighbors become your pet-sitter.

The only negative I can think of is flu. That is from a public health standpoint.

Positives include: fresh eggs, less insects, natural lawn fertilizer, and natural composting.

Unless there are roosters involved, urban chickens are not noisy at all, less so than dogs and not nearly as destructive as outdoor cats.

No the positives far outweigh the negatives IMHO. My neighborhood has them in about 20% of the back yards, possibly more. There are some roosters but really the hens are so much fun.
