Keeping duck breeds

Hello, I now have a six weeks old duck which is an Indian runner x pekin and unfortunately she’s the only one that hatched, we are now able to get her a friend so she isn’t lonely, what breed of duck should we get and would she be able to breed in the future or should we stop that from happening?

Any mallard derived breed would be fine, and yes there is no reason she could not lay viable eggs.

I would choose a smaller breed vs a larger one if you only have two. Such as a Runner, Khaki Campbell, Mallard, etc..
