Keeping Farm Kids CLEAN *picture overload*

HOOOORAAYYYYY for DIRT!!!!

Kids oughta be dirty, till they get clean, then they go to bed, so they can get up and get dirty again. Maybe a wash up in between for eating and/or going to the store, but sheesh!!! Too much clean is not healthy for kids!!! It means they're not being normal.

I will have to see if I can find the one of my daughter when she was like 4 yrs old. She was playing outside in the mud and is covered head to toe. She was having so much fun!

I say let kids be kids. Getting dirty is part of being a happy, normal kid. My nephew never let his boys get dirty when they were little. They couldn't be little boys. My middle sons in-laws wouldn't let my DGS get dirty when he was 1 or 2. On his first birthday wouldn't dig into his little cake that was made for him. Cleanest 1 yo I had ever seen.
Let you kids get dirty, don't worry about what others think. They looked like they were having a good time.

Clean kids are sick much of the time. To build immunities, they MUST encounter lots of good clean dirt (I draw the line at filth; for example, they can't be barefoot around animal poo). I'm a first grade teacher. Isn't it odd that the squeaky clean hair always gets the headlice?!?

Someone came up to me and said that my kids look filthy and nasty.

What kind of moron would do this???

(And yeah...let kids be kids)

My DD is five years old and LOVES playing in the mud, dirt, water and play with worms and bugs LOL! And her new outfit gets trashed in five minutes! She even holds Gretl (her fav SSH bantam)in her arms and eat a sandwich on the other hand without a thought to wash her hands AND petting her between bites, sharing a sandwich with Gretl!

I see nothing wrong with dirty kids have fun for the time of their lives!

Smocks. Some families send thier kids to school in beautiful new clothes/dresses often, in several cultures this is a sign of respect for the education & teachers. We'd cover the kids with smocks with sleeves soon after circle time to keep thier clothes nice, but the smocks would be a wreck.

That is unfortunately an accurate assessment! Too much WII and Xbox, myspace and stuff! Unplug and get some fresh air kiddos! If ya ain't dirty, ya probably didn't have fun! lol
