Keeping Fish

No problem^-^ I'm going to try to achieve marble based blacks(devils, ices, combos or laces... did I mention this already? Sorry), marbles/kois and maybe some nice multicolors. You might have to wait a while though, I'm still on my quest to find the perfect girl for my Monroe. Hopefully I can get two of each color, so that I can replace DOA fish, just in case.

Koi patterns are beautiful! Checked the fish store today on my way home and saw the most beautiful Bettas, a male with striking turquoise, another male with deep red and turquoise streaks, and a scarlet male with scales whose centers were tiny turquoise dots, so he had a shimmering, surreal appearance. I was astounded... :)

Regards,
Leaf

Nice! I had a hard time deciding which fish to get when I went to get my boys... So many beauties! My mom drew my attention to Monroe and I fell in love; especially with his form and finnage. I fell in love with Orlando because his rose tail was short, so I thought the beauty wouldn't drag him down; unfortunately I now know that was a big mistake. He also had a tint of purple; he was just so perfect, and he still is a great fish. I just hate to see him suffer.
I'll post pictures of Monroe, and a betta-inspired artwork done by me. I'd rather not take a picture of Orlando, his weak expression pains me.

My artwork, a multicolored crowntail male betta made with watercolor, pen and pencil.

You can see he has more blue with the camera flash.

Thanks everyone! I was considering making a few printouts of that, maybe making custom orders(cups, decals, etc.) for betta lovers, I'm not sure if that's a bit too much. At one point I was considering creating a family art business, but that's a big commitment. I should probably just start out with a mini hobby of selling my art(though I have a hard time letting go of masterpieces!).
The piece isn't of one of my bettas though, it's a combination of three betta images(I take no credit for those, and I couldn't have done the detailed outline without the images!), and the coloring was my mom's idea. I'm more of an observational artist, drawing based on pictures, so this was a bit different for me. I also mostly do art based on what other people like, like taking custom orders, because I don't get much inspiration. Artworks that are completely my own, though, are still as good.
Okay, back to fish! The other two images I poster are of Monroe - yes, a surprise; one image is with flash to see his shiny blue scales, the other is in natural daylight showing his big flowing fins. I'm glad I rescued him from that tiny petsmart cup, though he and Orlando could use some more personal space... which will come with time

pretty! I had trouble coming up with a name for mine so I let Timphani (my parrot) name him. I know i know, I let a parrot name a fish. Anyway she named him Huckleberry, because she loves the show "Girl Meets World" and there's a character on there nicknamed huckleberry.

Btw, does anyone know what breed he is, I found him on the floor of walmart...
