Keeping hens off storage bins?

This summer we've built a mobile coop for keeping our laying girls on pasture. We had planned to keep the extra bins (using heavy plastic garbage bins) for supplemental feed in one corner. While the spacing is fine, they love to roost on top of the bin and I'd rather not have the manure there.

Has anyone got a great way to keep them from roosting here? I found an egg there today so they are definitely comfortable hanging out there.

Unless you can build a wall around the bin, more than likely, they are gonna keep using it since they are comfortable with it already. I ran into this my first time around. You may have to find another place to keep your feed. I found that keeping my feed in the henhouse only attracted more predators as well. Good Luck.
