Keeping them cool

No end in site for temps 100+. Saturday and Sunday it's 105 and that's without heat index figured into it. I'm exhausted from keeping these babies cool. 😴🤠🍦🌞
I can relate, supposed to be 114 here Saturday :smackPS, I give my flock both electrolytes most days during the summer in addition to plain water. Another way to help hydrate them is to wet their feed for a meal, but don’t leave it for the next day due to mold concerns.

I have two plain waterers, plus 1 electrolyte, "a/c lounge" comes out around noonish (about 6-8 gallon jugs of frozen water in a semi circle next to the coop), wet food with ice cubes melted in them around 3pm, frozen watermelon rind about 5pm. They are set! I found that where they rest next to the coop, there's a cool breeze coming underneath through the hardware cloth. That with the frozen jugs makes it comfortable- hopefully. The run is almost 100% shade so that's helpful.

At least it's a little cooler when the sun goes down. We don't have the humidity here so we get a break at night. It's still about 90 in the coop so I'm keeping them out a bit longer today.
