Nope! NOt true anymore... thats OLD news. And 100% not true anymore... if it ever was true.
YOu'd have to eat...a LOT of poppy seed bagels to fail a test... they said NO way it can happen today.

http://www.snopes.com/medical/drugs/poppyseed.asp

They raised the limit for it to show as an opiate to avoid false positives but otherwise, it still does.

However this IS a 6 year old news source, so I will admit things might have changed in that time.

Yes, they have raised the legal limit for it to show on a test....
Today, you would need to eat a LOT of poppy seed bagels for it show a positive drug test...

And I hope and pray just as hard that it stops there. It's an evil law, imho.

Do you think that parents that abuse illegal drugs should have care of thier innocent children?? NOT trying to argue..just wondering how you feel about that...

eta: errr.... just read some more of the posts.... well it sounded good at first, but only if honest folks can redo a false positive. More control is only ok if it's got accurate information & isn't abused.

Yes, it's an evil law designed to throw disabled, chronically ill, and elderly people off assistance. And that will be the only result.

Drug tests can give false positives - and not just for poppy seeds either. For nothing!

You mean, do I think that kids whose mom or dad smoked a joint once in the past three months should lose food stamps and medical assistance?

ETA: I think it's pretty obvious we're on opposite sides of this. I'm just glad it's *not* in any states other than KY.

Or, apparently, going to a party where a friend had a joint and passed it to you. Better to let the kids starve, I'm sure.

NO, its better the kids should be taken from the parents that are doing illegal drugs.....
Then when the parents can pass a drug test..,.. get the kids back home. And then keep testing the parents. To make sure the kids are in a safe enviroment.
Just my opinion.. if you have kids..drugs are DONE with..period.
