I'm not new, but since there are so many new people to this section, I will introduce myself
First off, I'd like to say a big Hello! and
You will find all the information you are looking for here, and even some that you weren't looking for!
I am Shelley, and I live about 10 miles east of Columbia in Adair Co. I have several different breeds and species of birds, I will try to list them here
--Black Copper Marans (2 roos, 3 hens)
--Barred Rocks (1 roo, 3 hens)
--Lakenvelders (Golden roo, silver roo, 2 golden hens)
--2 pair of silkies (1 white, 1 blue)
--Lavender and split lavender Ameraucana LF: 1 split roo, 1 lav pullet, 1 split pullet
--a group of bantam cochins currently consisting of a black mottled roo, a blue roo, 3 black mottled hens, 1 red frizzle hen, 1 black and 1 black frizzle cockerels, 1 black frizzle pullet, 3 black mottled cockerels, 1 black mottled pullet, 6 baby black mottleds and 1 baby black frizzle in the brooder, and 5 little baby black mottleds in the pen with their mamas.
--Old English Game bantams: 1 pair of blue, a trio of splash (with 6 babies), and an oddball group consisting of a black rooster, 2 blue hens, and a splash hen. I've also got a blue cockerel & pullet and a black pullet from my blue pair, then I've got 2 blue cockerels and a silver blue cockerel from a silver blue hen that I lost this summer
--Serama: Currently I have at least 8 cockerels and 1 adult rooster, at least 8 pullets and 3 adult hens, and a few babies. The super-broody (OEGB/d'uccles mix) has some Serama eggs in her nest so I should have some more soon
--Then I've got some Old English and American game LF just because I like them (no fighting here!)
--Of course there are several oddballs, either pure birds that I only have 1 of or mixed birds that have made their mark on my heart and will never leave
In addition to the chickens, I also have guineas, Embden geese (with 1 Chinese goose), Pekin and Rouen ducks (with 1 Runner duck), Ringneck Pheasants (with 1 male Red Golden), Ringneck Doves, and Birmingham Roller pigeons. Finally, I have coturnix and button quail.
So there you have it, me and my farm in a nutshell....or is that a nut-house?
